Welcome to the 2013 School Year

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students:
Welcome to another exciting school year at Wilbur L. Cross High School.  I hope you are having an enjoyable and restful summer.  As your new principal, I have had the opportunity to meet many teachers, students and community members over the last few weeks. As I am learning more about Cross, we definitely have many successes and accomplishments to be proud of.   I look forward to building on these successes in the coming years.

The Wilbur Cross staff and I have been busy this summer preparing for the 2013-2014 school year. I have hired new staff  in order to meet the many needs of our students and to continue the implementation of several school initiatives.  There have also been several changes in the administrative team.  I am providing you with the dates of the NHPS mandatory orientations. Please remember that each family MUST attend in order to get your schedule and picture identification. In addition to meeting new administrators and staff, at orientation you will have the opportunity to learn more about Cross, including new student expectations and discipline procedures.

  2. Students who have unresolved obligations will be given a schedule once all obligations have been met.
  3. Your bus transportation assignment will be sent via mail in the next few weeks. If you have any questions regarding bus transportation, please contact the Office of Transportation at (203) 946-8418.

As we approach this upcoming school year and my first year as principal of Wilbur L. Cross High School, it is important that we support each other and continue the positive traditions that exist in this community. This can be hard work,  but through  the partnership of the community and the home, we can tackle all obstacles and challenges. My motto continues to be “Failure is not an option,” and the staff and I will not settle for anything less.

Vince Lombardi once said: “Dictionary is the only place that success comes before work. Hard work is the price we must pay for success. I think you can accomplish anything if you’re willing to pay the price.” Students, I know you can accomplish anything this year if you are willing to work hard and turn the obstacles into opportunities. I hope that the remainder of your summer will be restful and pleasant and that you will work closely and cooperatively with me to fulfill Cross’s vision, goals and objectives.
